Timelino holds children's records on behalf of schools. This page says plainly what that means. It is not a substitute for the agreement your school signs with us; it is the part a parent or a teacher should be able to read.
Who is responsible for what
Your school decides what is collected and why — under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 it is the Data Fiduciary. Vempus Technologies Pvt. Ltd. operates Timelino on the school's instructions and is the Data Processor. If you are a parent and want something corrected, your school can do it; we cannot, and will not, behind their back.
What we store for a school
Names, dates of birth, admission numbers, class and section, attendance, marks, conduct notes, fee records and guardian contact details. Payment proof a parent uploads — a UPI screenshot, an NEFT advice — is stored so the school's office can verify it, and is deleted with the rest of the record.
What we collect on this website
- The demo form. School name, city, your name, role, phone number, roll size and anything you type in the last field. It is sent to our form processor, which emails it to us. We use it to reply to you and for nothing else. No newsletter, no drip sequence, and we do not sell or share it.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 configured with consent mode denied by default, which means it runs without cookies and without an identifier stored on your device. We see how many people read a page, not who they are. That is why this site has no cookie banner — there is nothing to consent to.
- Server logs. Our host records requests for security and abuse handling, including IP address, for a short period.
What we never do
We do not sell data. We do not run advertising. We do not train models on your students. We do not give a third party access to a school's records unless your school has appointed them and told us so in writing.
Who we use
Hetzner for servers and the database, Cloudflare for DNS and hosting this website, Backblaze B2 for encrypted backups, and Resend for transactional email. School data is stored in India. The complete list, with what each one is for, is on our security page, and we tell schools before it changes.
Who at Timelino can see school data
Support access to a school's live data is off by default, requires the school to turn it on, is limited to a named person, expires after 24 hours, and is written to a log the school can read. We cannot silently look at your records.
How long we keep it
For as long as the school's account is open. If a school closes its account we keep the data for 90 days in case they change their mind, then delete it. A school can export everything as CSV at any time, without asking us.
Your rights
If your child's school uses Timelino and you want to see, correct or erase something, ask the school — they hold the decision and the tools. If you have contacted us through this website and want that deleted, email[email protected] and we will do it and confirm.
If something goes wrong
We tell affected schools within 24 hours of confirming an incident that touches their data — by phone to the account holder, then in writing, with what happened, what was reached and what we did.
